Energy Development Corporation

Energy Development Corporation is the largest producer of geothermal energy in the Philippines and the second largest in the world. It is involved in geothermal, hydroelectric and wind power projects.

The company was previously owned by the Philippine National Oil Company, a state corporation owned by the Republic of the Philippines engaged in the exploration of resources, energy production and distribution of food to smaller electricity distributor. EDC was privatized and acquired by the Lopez group as part of its energy and power business units.

The San Miguel Corporation (SMC) is a company based in the Philippines that products in the food and beverage sector. In terms of turnover is SMC's third-largest company in the Philippines.
