Validity of Drivers License 5 Years

In accordance with Republic Act No. 4136, as amended, the following rules and regulations providing for a five-year validity of driver's licenses and conductor's licenses are hereby promulgated.

Starting this October, non-professional driver's licenses, professional driver's licenses, and conductor's licenses shall be valid and effective for five (5) consecutive years reckoned from the birth date of the licensee, unless sooner revoked or suspended.

Documentary requirements shall be in accordance with existing rules and regulations governing the issuance of driver's licenses and conductor's licenses.

The new license fee will be P585, which is P235 higher than the previous rate. This means that the total fee (including application fee and computer fee) for new licenses will be P820.26, while renewal will cost P652.63. Of note, these figures are exclusive of penalties and cost of medical examination.
