In commemoration of 150th Birth Anniversary of Philippines's national hero Jose Rizal, Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas minted one peso coin to start "New Generation" coins currency series.
Last year, the new design paper bills started in circulations, which were unexpectedly to contain various significant in their description of Philippine geography and wildlife. However, the new grayish, nickel-plated one peso coin has nothing to be different other than facing side to be front.

New Philippine Peso Bills:Currency of Hope and Change
New peso bills starting this Christmas 2010, imagine little kids, such as grandson (apo), nephew (pamangkin), godchild (inaanak) asking for their aginaldo the new peso bills.
Starting December 17, 2010 new design peso bills will be ready in circulation.
The latest security features of the bank notes include security fibers/thread, embossed prints, serial numbers, watermarks, a see-through mark and optically variable ink /device. As the value of the note goes up the amount of feature increases.
