Aboitiz Equity Ventures is the holding and management company publicly traded in the Aboitiz Group. AEV was originally made September 11, 1989 Pan Asia Cebu Holdings, Inc. The Company changed its name to the current December 29, 1993 and its participation has been open to the general public through an initial public offering of its shares on November 16, 1994.
AEV is the holding company and public management of the Aboitiz Group of Companies. At December 31, 2013, its core business, conducted through various subsidiaries and affiliates, are grouped into five main categories, namely, power distribution, power generation and electricity retail supply; drop-off window financial services; manufacture of food products; real estate; and portfolio investment.
The significant subsidiaries of AEV are Aboitiz Power Corporation, Pilmico Foods Corporation, and Aboitiz Land, Inc.
Pilmico is one of the largest countries in the flour manufacturers and ranks among the three largest producers of domestic flour in terms of sales . It was incorporated in 1958 and started as a joint venture between the Group Lu Do Aboitiz Group, the Group and the Pillsbury Soriano group in the United States. The three groups ended up selling their assets AEV .
Aboitiz Jebsen Group is a joint venture with the Jebsen Group of Norway, whose main activity in the management of the ship, the crew and the crew management , and bulk transport companies.
On 1 December 2010 , AEV together and Aboitiz & Company, Inc. (COA) has entered into a securities purchase agreement with Negros Navigation Company, Inc. ( NENACO ) for the purchase by NENACO of the entire equity capital own AEV AEV and ACO in transport subsidiary Aboitiz transport System (ATSC ) Corporation (ATS) . The sale included all the logistics , shipping companies ATS except ship managers , staff and crew management , and bulk transport ATS joint venture companies with the Jebsen Group of Norway.
