Palawan - Philippine's Last Frontier

The Puerto Princesa Subterranean River National Park is one of the most important biodiversity conservation areas of the Philippines located at Palawan.
It features a stunning limestone or karst terrain that contains an 8.2 km long underground river. A distinguishing feature of the river is that it streams directly into the sea, and the lower half portion of the river is brackish and subject to tidal influence.

The area also stands for significant habitat for biodiversity conservation. It contains a full mountain to the sea ecosystem and secures forests, which are among the most remarkable in Asia.

The name El Nido is from the many swallows' nests (Spanish nide / nido), which are collected in the surrounding caves for the famous Chinese soup.

National Marine Park PhilippinesMarine Park Tubbataha Reef was declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in the year 1993 being extended such rating in June 2009.
