Banaue Rice Terraces
The Banaue rice (in Tagalog : Hagdan-hagdang Palayan ng Banaue) are rice 2000 years old built on mountains Ifugao by ancestors of the ethnic Batad, the Philippines. They are often called "the eighth wonder of the world. "
It is thought that the terraces were built with few tools, mostly hand with knowledge handed down from generation to generation. They are located at about 1500 m above sea level and covers 10 360 km 2. They are supplied with water by the rainforest pushing further up the mountains.
