Kulugo or Wart

The wart is a small outgrowth of skin or a small lesion that can be induced by microtrauma, and can appear on almost all parts of the body. It can be found on the hand, the elbow, the knee, the face, the foot and on the genitals.

Warts are skin tumors benign (not cancerous). They derive the skin infection by a virus, the human papillomavirus (HPV) that there are fifty different types, some with more readily some warts. It seems generally accepted that the warts of the hands, elbows and knees may come from strain injury.



There are several types of warts:

1. verruca vulgaris (common hand wart), a raised wart with roughened surface, most common on hands, but can grow anywhere on the body.

2. verruca plantaris (foot wart), a hard sometimes painful lump, often with multiple black specks in the center; usually only found on pressure points on the soles of the feet.

3. verruca plana (flat wart), a small, smooth flattened wart, flesh-coloured, which can occur in large numbers; most common on the face, neck, hands, wrists and knees.

4. verruca acuminata (genital wart), a wart that occurs on the genitalia.


Cause:

Warts are due to viruses. A person may have a wart removed from his grip or exposure his skin on the part of the body of the sick person wart looks. It can also infect a person through sexual intercourse, particularly genital warts, a person with genital warts disease.


Symptoms:

The symptoms of getting warts is based on location of the wart. Occasionally, it causes pain. But often it gives people with wart feel uncomfortable.


Diagnosis:

The recognition of the existence of the wart is done by the physician by looking and checking it. Sometimes, but not always proved as doctor laboratory tests, similar culture and skin biopsy, whose purpose is to ensure that the diagnosis wart on the skin of the patient.


Treatments:

Among the wart cure in medical examinations. The physician may suggest that dissolve warts with salycilic acid, taking cryosurgery, placing it in the refrigerator to remove the wart, the use of laser treatment to remove the wart, the electrocautery burning and removing warts with electricity, and other methods of treatment or removal of wart.
