Asia's Rising Tiger 2015

With proper allocation of budget, the tiger will rise again.
5 billion pesos released to DENR (Department of Environment and Natural Resources) for the continued implementation of the National Greening Program which intend to plant 1.5 billion trees across 1.5 million hectares across the country by 2016.

Timely enactment of the National Budget enables immediate project implementation. With the submission of the 2014 National Budget, the GAA-as-Release Document takes into effect. We should now expect the prompt implementation of the programs and projects of our numerous government agencies as enabled by this budget reform.

1.97 billion pesos released to the Department of Education for the implementation of the Abot-Alam program, designed to provide various opportunities for education and possible career and employment for the country’s out-of-school youth (OSY)

The funding will support the efforts of the TPB (Tourism Promotions Board) to highlight the country’s products, landmark destinations, and services, with the end goal of increasing tourism arrivals and investments to 10 million tourists by 2016.

With policy tightening this year, the peso is expected to rebound to P43 against the US dollar, allowing the local currency to become one of Asia's best performing. For 2015, the peso is seen to average P42 to the dollar.
