Unified PSE celebrates 20 years with 'Sining PSE - 2012 National Art Competition'

To all amateur/non-professional artists! As part of Philippine Stock Exchange's 20th anniversary, following the merger of the Manila Stock Exchange and the Makati Stock Exchange, they recently launched Sining PSE: two National Art Competition.

With the theme "Nagkakaisang Pilipino Para sa Maunlad at Masigasig na Kalakalan," PSE seeks for all the artists to be able to showcase (through their artwork) how working with each other can produce positive results towards development of business, livelihood and trade.

Choose which category you belong to: Painting or Sculpture. You can only submit one (1) entry per category. Winners for both categories will each receive P100, 000 (Grand Prize), P40, 000 (2nd Place), or P20, 000 (3rd Place).

Contest Period starts by June 13, 2012 until November 9, 2012, while Submission cut-off until October 1, 2012, midnight.

Entry Guidelines
Painting
Open to oil/acrylic media
Size is fixed at 91.44 cm x 121.92 cm (3 ft x 4 ft)
Must be original
Must be done after the date of contest launch
Must not have been exhibited and not previously entered in any competition, whether international or local
Artworks must be sturdy enough to withstand the rigors of multiple travel and handling
Must be two-dimensional, dry, properly packed, museum-wrapped and ready for exhibition with provisions for wall-bound hanging
Sculpture
Free standing
Height must be at least 1 foot but not more than 1.5 ft (including base) on all sides. Base must be at least 1 inch but not more than 2 inches in height and not more than 1. 5 feet on all sides
Allowed medium to be used could be one or any combination of the following durable materials: resin, fiberglass, glass, metal, wood, stone (concrete), properly fired clay (e.g. terracotta or stoneware) with a weight not exceeding 40 kilos


Sining PSE is open to all non-professional Filipino artists from 21 years and above. Non-professional artists are specified as those who have not done a one-man show.

National Artists Hon. Benedicto Cabrera (BenCab) and Hon. Abdulmari Imao are leading the board of judges for the Painting and Sculpture categories for the competition.
