Mt. Mayon is the most active volcano in the Philippines.
The most catastrophic eruption of Mayon happened on February 1, 1814, which buried the town of Cagsawa. During that time, Mt. Mayon was burping dark ash and eventually thrashing the town with tephra.
Trees were burnt-out, rivers were certainly disabled, and 2,200 peoples passed away in what is considered to be the most devastating eruption in Mayon’s history. Now, only the bell tower of the town’s church remained.
