Atis-Sugar Apple

 The atis (English: custard apple , atimoya , sweetsop , or sugar apple ) fruit of the tree called scaly custard-apple Annona squamosa derived from the Caribbean and South America. Annona squamosa is its scientific name
This species is now cultivated in most tropical countries like Colombia, El Salvador, India, Bangladesh, Pakistan and the Philippines.
The fruit resembles a large, overgrown raspberry green about the size of an apple, with a thick skin, under which lies a very sweet, white creamy flesh - hence the name of this fruit emphasizing taste - sugar apple is as sweet as sugar. Fruit can easily be broken down into two parts, so you can easily get into the apples (the flesh), which in combination with the refrigerated coconut milk creates a light, natural and delicious ice cream. Apple sugar has high phosphorus and calcium, and iron, carotene, ascorbic acid and other vitamins and minerals.

The aggregate fruit is round in shape, with the stem dented and 5-10 cm wide. Typical of the fruit is the peel off button irregular shaped, strongly curved, fleshy parts, in full ripe state just stick together. The 2 mm thick shell is usually ripe green to yellow-green and blue, but some varieties have pink and violet fruits. The pulp is creamy white, mature very soft, juicy and pulpy, fine and fresh aromatic flavor. Appearance makes this ripe flesh does yogurt thinking. In the fruit there are many 1.5 cm large seeds.
