Mindoro

Mindoro is the seventh largest island in the Philippines because of its size. It is located southwest of the island of Luzon , and northeast of the island of Palawan. In the past, the island was called Ma-I or Mait by Chinese. The name comes from the name Mindoro that the Spanish gave the island: "Mina de Oro" (Gold Mine "). Island is now divided into two provinces: Mindoro Mindoro East and West.

The economy of Mindoro is largely based on agriculture. The island produces a wide variety of fruits: lemon, banana, rambutan and coconut. Grains also grow on the island: rice, sugar cane, corn, peanut.
The island operates its mineral resources (copper and marble).

On the island, the language most spoken is Tagalog , but in some parts of the island, many people speak Visayan and Mangyan. The most practiced religion of the island is the Catholic religion.

On the island of Mindoro in these places are worth a visit: Aroma Beach, Laymon Beach, White Iceland, Lake Naujan, Puerto Galera and the Tamaraw Falls. In addition, the small island is diving Pandan Iceland on the West Coast before the cargo port city Sablayan. Oriental Mindoro
Oriental Mindoro is a Philippine province on the island of Mindoro in the region MIMAROPA (Occidental Mindoro, Oriental Mindoro, Marinduque, Romblon and Palawan). The capital of the province is Calapan. Oriental Mindoro is politically composed of 14 autonomous communities and managed a provincial town.

Puerto Galera is a town in the northwest of the Philippine province of Oriental Mindoro on the island of Mindoro. The community is located at the Isla Verde Street, a hot spot of biodiversity in the Philippines and worldwide.

Occidental Mindoro
The Province of Mindoro Occidental occupies the western part of the island of Mindoro, while the other part, the province Oriental Mindoro forms. Northwest of the province lies the South China Sea to the west, the Strait of Mindoro, between the island of Mindoro and to the southwest thereof located Calamian Archipelago separates.

The topography of the province is characterized by mountains, some rivers, of hills and valleys, plains and some small freshwater lakes.
